This is for you if.....

you have always wanted to experience photographing a working station and to be immersed in the landscape and lifestyle of

those who are part of the agricultural industry.

those who are part of the agricultural industry.

you have always wanted to experience photographing a working station and to be immersed in the landscape and lifestyle of those who are part of the agricultural industry.

Maybe you have been shooting for a while,

but you just haven't had the time to fully commit to actually learning how to get the best out of your camera, or you have been dealing with information overload and would like some face to face support to break that information overload down for you so you have a clearer understanding.

We get it, life gets busy and the year flies by, and suddenly we are into another year.

We have all been there! Another year where we say, this year we will put ourselves first to do something we love. So...this is your year to enhance your photography skills, forget about the daily grind for a few days and enjoy the moment with a like-minded group and inspirational surroundings.

Don't miss this opportunity!

This is a very unique opportunity where Lisa and our Gilberton Station host, Lyn, will share the knowledge they have gained in their respective interests. Lisa's family has been living at Blackall in CW Qld for 5 generations, and she has been running a full-time photography business for 5 years. Lyn's family has been living in Far North Qld for 7 generations and she has extensive knowledge in local history, flora, fauna and running Gilberton Station sustainably. Not only will you learn all things photography and have the opportunity to photograph a working station, but you will also be in the company of two ladies who are extremely passionate about the agricultural industry and all it has to offer.

Maybe you have been shooting for a while,

but you just haven't had the time to fully commit to actually learning how to get the best out of your camera, or you have been dealing with information overload and you would love to spend time with a like-minded supportive group photographing the Outback.

Your mentor...

Lisa will be sharing all she has learned, giving a hands-on approach as to the gear she uses, how to shoot the uniqueness of rural Australia the way she does, why we use certain settings in certain situations, and how to embrace storytelling in your imagery. She will encourage questions so you can get as much out of the Retreat as possible. We have limited numbers so we may provide ample opportunity for 1:1 coaching and support during the Retreat.

One of Australia's Best Emergent Rural Lifestyle Photographers whose family has lived in the outback for

5 generations...

Lisa is a wife, mother and self-taught natural light photographer who calls her 23,000-acre merino sheep property in Outback Queensland home. Lisa's passion now lies in capturing the rural lifestyle as she sees it through her lens, authentically and with emotion, and sharing her knowledge with others through her online courses, 1:1 zoom coaching, and in person workshops.

She loves to capture those never-to-be-repeated moments of connection – be they with people, animals, or places, as well as showcasing the absolute beauty that can be found in the outback.

Lisa has been fortunate to travel much of the outback and north Queensland over the last 5 years, and she has worked with major brands where she had showcased her talent in rural lifestyle shoots, storytelling with images, and how to capture those moments that are individual to the event or sImageituation.

One-on-One

Learning Experience

This retreat will be capped at 6 participants ONLY so we can offer 1-1 tutoring while you are shooting.

Lisa will be there to help and guide you every step of the way, in as simple a way as possible.

LISA WILL BE SHARING ALL SHE KNOWS AS A RURAL LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHER

A big part of Lisa's style as a photographer is her ability to capture an image that 'tells a story'. The connection between horse and human, the colours of the outback or simply showcasing the authenticity of those who live on the land, is what motivates Lisa. In addition to supporting you in shooting action shots, Lisa will share how she shoots those moments quite often missed.

FAQs...

FAQs...

I am a beginner, will this retreat suit me?

Everyone has to start somewhere. Yes, we can definitely start you on the road of photographing the images you dream of. Some other participants may have been shooting a little longer, and you may hear language you have no understanding of, but the more you hear these definitions and descriptions of photography, the faster you will learn. We are there to help you, and each step you take is a step closer to improving your photography.

Where is Gilberton Station?

Gilberton Station is located near Einasleigh, Far North Qld, approx 6.5 hours west of Cairns and 6 hours from Townsville. You have the option of driving yourself to Gilberton Station, car pooling with other participants, or a charter plane can also be arranged from either Cairns or Townsville for anyone interested. This will be at the participants cost. We suggest contacting either Lyn [email protected] or Lisa at [email protected] and we can assist with travel arrangements from either city.

I don’t have a Canon camera.

All cameras today are amazing. It does not matter if you do not shoot with a Canon camera, but we do strongly suggest that you bring along the manual that came with your camera so we can assist you with settings if needed.

What should I bring?

Your camera with fully charged batteries, a battery charger, and clean memory cards. We would suggest bringing some spare memory cards if you do not plan on downloading your images to a computer. Feel free to bring any extra lenses and a tripod if you wish. As we will be outdoors for the whole time, please do not forget a hat, and sunscreen.

Will we be editing our images?

Editing of images is not included in the workshop. We do not have the facilities available to us, therefore this workshop will be focused primarily on hands-on shooting techniques and using your camera. As a bonus, we are setting up a pop-up FB group where you can ask for feedback on images you have captured during the workshop. We are also offering a Zoom session at a reduced cost following the workshop where we will share some editing tips with you.
